Our journey together began through PTA leadership, where our shared passion for leadership development and its endless benefits – set the stage for an inspiring partnership.
Barbara brings her natural charisma and warmth to the table as the more social, emotionally intuitive half of the team. Heather, a deep thinker with a more reserved approach, balances our dynamic with keen insight and thoughtful analysis. Like Yin and Yang, we complement each other, creating a harmonious and effective partnership focused on empowering others.
How Our Background and Experience Help Us Transform Nonprofit Leadership
As award-winning leaders and consultants in nonprofit development, we have decades of experience in PTA and leadership roles.
Together, our backgrounds offer a solid foundation in leadership and communication. With a BA in English, Heather brings expertise in clear, impactful messaging – skills she now uses to inspire and guide others. Working for an engineering consulting firm gave her experience in technical writing, research, and detailed communication. In addition, taking on project management duties increased her knowledge in goal setting, strategic planning, and teamwork.
Barbara’s path started at a specialized broadcasting and communications college, where she sharpened her storytelling and strategic communication skills. Her passion and aptitude quickly propelled her into a successful career, ultimately rising to the role of Director of Marketing for Windstar Cruises. Barbara’s hands-on experience and strategic insight bring invaluable depth to our leadership development work.
We’re Passionate About Strengthening Communities through Service-Driven Leadership
Outside of work, we are deeply committed to our communities and the causes that matter to us and our families. We have served in roles that nurture educational opportunities and drive local impact, from bond and levy committees to school foundations and other grassroots organizations. Through these roles, we’ve refined our understanding of service-driven leadership, which now fuels our mission to help others become impactful, purpose-driven leaders.
